Architect Bijoy Ramachandran speaks to Prof. Rabindra Vasavada, a celebrated practitioner, conservationist, teacher and historian about his time at the IIM Ahmedabad site office (where he started his career) from 1969 to 1972 working with Louis Kahn the American architect, who was commissioned to design the campus, and Prof. Anant Raje, the local architect in-charge. The time working with Lousi Kahn on the School (the Library, Faculty blocks, Classrooms and the Dorms) had a profound impact on Prof. Vasavada.
What architectural values do drawings convey? – Bijoy Ramachandran
The Architectural Invocation Project, by SEED, is essentially a campaign of hope towards a more meaningful future for architecture and design. It attempts to articulate critical questions concerning the academics and practice of Architecture through significant practitioners in the country. The extremely short duration of the video bite makes it both challenging and absorbing, thereby presenting itself as small packets of wisdom. As a new school, seed will attempt to assimilate these into an organic academic spirit which is beneficial for the students, parents and the peers.
Architect Bijoy Ramachandran (Hundredhands) and Filmmaker Premjit Ramachandran spend time with the 2018 Pritzker Prize Winner , Balkrishna Doshi, to unravel more of the myth, metaphor and magic that makes Doshi so magnetic.
Stay inspired. Curious.
