TU Delft, in partnership with universities all over the world, is launching an ideas competition for
students from any discipline concerned with the built environment and sustainable urban development.
The question we wish to answer is: how to create healthy, safe and resilient living environments in
informal settlements, while preserving livelihoods and social networks? How to create public goods in
informal settlements while avoiding displacement?
The realms of studies include rapidly depleting resources, climate change, increasing urbanization, rapid advancements in emerging technologies; changing social, economic and political patterns, changes in professions, issues of sustainability and environmental concerns, life-spans and life-styles and changing policies and economic systems.
In May 2017, TDV – The design village, an interdisciplinary industry centric institute decided to move its existing campus to a larger premises to accommodate the growing number of students in their design school. An old abandoned Kattha (catechu) factory wouldn’t be an option unless you’ve got architect Sourabh Gupta on your team.
